Do i need to purchase tickets before we arrive or can we buy on day we arrive?

Good afternoon;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander.
There are several convenient ways to get to Prince Edward Island. Whether you drive across the Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick, take a ferry ride from Nova Scotia or fly into the Charlottetown airport, no ticket is required for entry. However, when leaving the province, a toll of $50.25 for a passenger vehicle is charged at the Confederation Bridge. By ferry, you may wish to book in advance for the Woods Islands to Caribou sailing to secure your spot. The cost for a passenger vehicle is $91.
I invite you to download or order our 2025 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!
Have a wonderful summer vacation!
