Hello - we'll be in PEI from June 30th to July 7th. Can you tell me if there are any Canada Day festivities and fireworks planned near Cavendish? Also, can you tell me what day/s the Charlottetown Farmers Market is open? Thank you.

Hello Diane,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander!
I am happy to hear that you're coming to visit. There will be Canada Day festivities in Charlottetown for sure, their fireworks display never disappoints!
The town of North Rustico, which is closer to the Cavendish area also has Canada Day celebrations which usually includes a parade, live music and ends with a fabulous fireworks display over the harbour.
There are other communities across the Island that also celebrate Canada Day, Souris, Murray Harbour, Kensington, Summerside and Cornwall to name a few.
The Charlottetown Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and after June 21st will also be open on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
I invite you to download or order our 2024 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!
See you soon!
