how does one get to/from Charlottetown to St. Johns or Gander without flying through Toronto or Montreal? We will not have a car.

Answer by:

Hello Sylvia,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

Locals tend to book flights through Charlottetown PE, Halifax NS or Moncton NB, to get to Gander or St. John's, Newfoundland. This time of year most flights require a stop in Montreal or Toronto. In the busy travel season, airlines have had direct flights, but air travel has changed a lot over the years and direct flights are harder to locate.

Happy vacation planning!
