How far ahead can I book a tee time at various courses?

Answer by:

Hello Ed,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

In 2024, the most rounds of golf ever were played on PEI at 446,000, up over 12% compared to 2023. Prince Edward Island is a golfing destination dream, so we are excited you are looking to come and play on our Island.

On Prince Edward Island, you will find a wide variety of golf course options.  We have the most golf courses per capita!  Whether it’s views of the water from the Atlantic Ocean, rolling hills overlooking farmland, or just a classic course view, the options are endless. The only concern you’ll have is trying to fit as many courses as possible into your trip.

Islanders jokingly say everything is less than fourty-five minutes away, whether you’re going golfing, heading to the beach, or taking in some of our world-famous culinary experiences. The proximity of almost everything on the Island is extremely close, and without the big city traffic you may expect elsewhere. You are never far away from your nearest adventure. You might slow down and even stop to look at the scenery, take a picture of a cow, enjoy dining or climb a lighthouse on your way to or from your day of golf.

From personal experience, I have found many golfers love the opportunity for someplace like Golf PEI to plan their first trip to the Island. They can arrange for accommodations, rentals and recommend a few other golf-related needs when required. It is stress free and they can line up your tee times and travel times from your accommodations.

Once your first trip is in the books, many golfers will then continue with this arrangement. We find some golfers find accommodation which might assist with the tee times, while they are here on their first golfing adventure. Chatting with the staff and fellow golfers while at the golf courses, it is easy to pick up a few solid tips. If you decide to book an accommodation yourself, book close to most, if not all, of the courses you wish to play. Then you will have to figure out the tee times and days. Getting the accommodation first is the important step when booking everything yourself.

As far as the best pricing is concerned, I would like to point out that your time and the convenience of having someone book everything for you can be just as good of a price as trying to book everything yourself. As my grand-father use to say, "It is six of one or half a dozen of the other."

It doesn't matter what kind of golfer you are, The Links at Crowbush Cove is a premier course. With four sets of tees on each hole to cater for all abilities, I encourage every golfer to give it a try. That way you can brag to your golf buddies you played the course! The panoramic views are incredible so don’t forget to bring a camera!

Dundarave is a wonderful course, I cannot lie, I love it for the sudden burst of wind off the river which can change your whole game. While you are here playing this one, get a game in on the Brudenell River course, two short holes that run alongside the river are some of the best holes.

I could go on about each and every one of the course!

Happy golfing!
