How has the air quality been the last two weeks? Fire smoke?

Good morning Tom;

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. About a week ago, some parts of Prince Edward Island were experiencing haze due to Quebec fires. Since then, the air quality health index has improved and has been steadily low risk. For your reference, see this Environment Canada Air Quality Health Index.

If you haven't done so already, download our 2023 visitor’s guide or pick up a hard copy when you arrive at the airport or any Visitor Information Centre. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!

I hope this provides the assurance you need to plan a trip to Prince Edward Island. Have a wonderful summer!

Regards,

Verna Lynne
