I am looking for barn dance, or country dance or swing dance on August 23, 2025 near to Lakeside or St Peters.

Good morning;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. I would recommend the weekly ceilidh with dancing at the Seniors Circle Club on Fridays in St. Peters. The music and dancing starts at 7:30 pm. Once the wax hits the hardwood floor, the dancing begins and only stops for an evening lunch. My family and I enjoyed the music and dancing (see image below) at this club when camping in the area in summer 2023. Here, you'll have the chance to learn the Souris Set, which is a dance unique to the area. The club is located at 1917 Cardigan Road, St. Peter's Bay. Contact: 902-739-3334.

On Wednesdays, Red Island Cider in Charlottetown organizes outdoor social dancing in the evenings with @downstreetdance from 5 - 7 PM. No partner is required. All styles are welcome. Kick off your work shoes and dance!
While in the area, you may also be interested in the step dancing competition at the PEI Provincial Plowing Match & Agricultural Fair.
Check out these pages for more events as the date gets closer: live music, ceilidhs & kitchen parties and festivals and events.
If you haven't done so already, download our 2025 visitor’s guide or pick up a hard copy when you arrive at the airport or any Visitor Information Centre. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!
Have a fabulous vacation! Thank you for choosing Prince Edward Island.
