I love to knit and wish to see spinning mills and yarn shops. Where should I go?

Hello from Prince Edward Island,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander about wool mills and shops. To start, the oldest mill on PEI is MacAusland Woolen Mill and has been in one family for six generations. On weekdays, you may tour the mill and watch the woolen blankets being made. Their famous blankets, skeins of yarn and other products are available in the shop in Bloomfield.
While in the area of North Cape Coastal Drive, visit Green Gable Alpacas in Birch Hill for lovely alpaca yarn.
Along the Central Coastal Drive, visit Trailside Yarn Shop in Kensington, Knit Pickers PEI in Cavendish and Ewe and Dye Weavery (love that name!) in beautiful Victoria by the Sea.
To the east of Charlottetown in the Points East Coastal Drive region, you will find Pastimes PEI Rughooking and Wool Shop in Vernon Bridge. The Belfast area is the home of two fascinating wool mills and shops: Fleece and Harmony features yarn from PEI-sourced wool and Belfast Mini Mills has wool from local sources and exotic animals. This shop also manufacturers mills that are shipped and installed worldwide.
This fall, the PEI Fibre Festival takes place October 5th to 7th and features workshops in knitting, crochet, spinning, etc. It should be a fun time for all!
Hopefully, my suggestions help you to find some lovely yarn, great experiences and a lovely tour of Prince Edward Island.
