I visit for vacation each year to our home in Orwell. I would like to try clam digging. Where and how do I get started?

Good morning Joe;

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. The south side of the Island is popular for clam digging. I'm told that Pinette and Tea Hill are favourite spots nearest Orwell. Low tide is the best time to go. It's best to source an online tide chart to determine the time of day to go.

Visit our clam digging information page before you head out for size and catch regulations.

Have a wonderful summer.
