I would like to fly fish for trout near Bonshaw. Can you recommend access points and locations?

Good afternoon Michael;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. Full disclosure - I am not an angler so I spoke to a co-worker with a friend who is an avid one for an answer to your question. However, I do frequent Bonshaw to hike the trails so realize the popularity of the location.
There are two access points for fishing in and around the Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park.
- Park to the east of the bridge (download map) and access the river from this point; and/or
- Drive up Green Road just beyond park entrances, if coming from Charlottetown, for catch and release at Crosby's Pond (see map below from PEI Angling Summary pg. 17) at the tail end of West River.
In case you need more information about fishing in PEI, visit Angling Resources.
Have a great trip and good luck with fly fishing.
