Is end of August a suitable time to visit PEI from weather standpoint? Is lobster season on in end of August? Thanks

Answer by:

Hello Solomon,

Thank you for your question to Ask An Islander.

Anytime is a suitable time to visit Prince Edward Island. The end of August can be a bit cooler than the summer, but an ideal time for a day at the beach, a light sweater or jacket may be needed for the evenings and are still some lovely nights to view the meteor showers.

Fall lobster season will be in full swing shortly, after a small delay due to the weather. Gear will be set Sunday, August 13th and the first fall lobster catches will be landed on Monday!

Enjoy your visit,

Erin Davis
