My absolute dream is to see an orca. I know there are no absolutes for whale watching, however where would i go about finding a whale watching tour where i could likely see one?

Hello Sara,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

There are a variety of small whales like the minke and pilot whales known to be in the waters that surround Prince Edward Island however there is no guarantee you will see a whale.  Other sea species include dolphins, porpoises and seals.   For the possibility of seeing a whale , there are a number of top notch tours available including  PEI Whales and Seals Tour with Captain Jeff McNeill.  This tour operating from North Lake Harbor would provide an exciting expedition experience as he will try his best to find one for you to see.

Happy whale watching!
