Answer by:

Hello Christine,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

In July, you have lots of wonderful options, but you may wish to start looking and booking soon. The first thing to decide, do you want a red or white sand beach? Then decide if you want a busier beach or something almost to yourselves. Maybe you would like a beach you can go clam digging on, that would be a red sand beach, bay or the mouth of a river.

On our tourism website, there is a section called where to stay. You can pick the type of accommodation you are looking for and the area. If you were looking to stay down east, 338 Lower Montague Cottages is on a wonderful red sand beach. Ideal for walking and clam digging. East Coast Retreat is also a cute option. Waterford Cottages on the North Cape Coastal Drive are quiet and out of the way. Lyons Cottages are also a great spot in the Stanhope area.

Happy vacation planning,

Erin Davis
