My family and I (husband & 13 year old son) are visiting PEI this July. We will be bringing our dog with us. Are there beaches that are dog friendly, or trails that are great for dogs? Any "dog friendly" ideas are appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Jackie,
For sure! Basically, any beach is dog friendly as long as it isn’t part of the PEI National Park system (which stretches on the north shore from Cavendish west to Rustico, continues from Robinson’s Island through to Stanhope and also includes the Greenwich beaches).
Any beach that isn’t dog friendly is normally marked very well with signage and posters.
A few of my dog’s favourite beaches include Canoe Cove at low tide (so many sandbars!), Tracadie Beach (which also has Fin Restaurant - a dog friendly patio!) and Naufrage Harbour beach.
For trails, they’re all dog friendly as long as the pup is leashed! Winter River, Dromore and Strathgartney are a few of our favorites.
Hope that helps!
