Hello,With regards to bikepacking the Confederation Trail, is wild tenting allowed, or only tenting in approved campgrounds? Thanks,Ron

Answer by:

Hello Ron,

I am happy to hear you are planning on visiting Prince Edward Island and doing the Confederation Trail.

Our provincial regulations state that wild camping is not permitted on Prince Edward Island.

The best site to use for searching accommodations would be the Tourism PEI website

I also recommend checking out the Confederation Trail Guide, which you can access online. It has lists of different accommodations along the trail. You can access that here: https://www.tourismpei.com/what-to-do/outdoor-activities/confederation-trail

You should see a button that says “Download guide”

I hope this helps and we look forward to welcoming you to PEI.

Kind regards,

Jennifer
