Hello Arlene,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

August is a great month to visit.

There are lots of festivals and events in August. Check out the Dundas Plowing Match. It is the PEI Provincial Plowing Match & Agricultural Fair. Art in the Open is happening in downtown Charlottetown on the 26th.

Lennox Island Pow Wow is on August 26th and 27th.

There are lots of outdoor activities like boating, hiking, biking, golfing and deep-sea fishing are all very popular, depending on everyone's interests.

If anyone is a foodie, there are many wonderful places to search for the best lobster rollsseafood chowder and fish and chips. There are some amazing culinary adventures including boot campbread making and farm tours.

We have lots of beaches & parkslighthousespublic gardens and museums & historical sites. All of this and I have not even mentioned Green Gables and all things Anne yet!

If you like nature and outdoor chores, maybe become a fisher or farmer for the day!

Checking out the Coastal Drives is a great start to planning. Lots of things to see and do on the three coastal drives. Stop and enjoy the view, take pictures, say hello to the cows and enjoy the small towns.

Happy vacation planning!
