We have 3 -4nights in PEI. Any suggestions for a coastal itinerary and what cities to book hotels in

Hi Danny,
Thank you for your question! Since you have just a few days to spend in Prince Edward Island, I would suggest that you stay somewhere in the Central Coastal Drive region. That way, you are in the middle of the Island and you can explore east or west and still make it back to your accommodation by evening.
If you're looking for a hotel, our capital city of Charlottetown might be a great place to start. Charlottetown is fairly centrally located as well so it is a great spot to stay. Charlottetown has many fabulous hotels to choose from, I will list a few below:
Quality Inn & Suites Downtown Charlottetown
The Delta Prince Edward by Marriott
You can easily spend one of your days touring around the historic city. Depending on the time of year that you will be here, there are many types of tours of the city. Walking tours, carriage tours, land and sea tours! There are many wonderful restaurants, shops and historical sites to visit and if you're here in July or August, there is live music on the waterfront daily with Sounds of the Waterfront.
As for the other days, perhaps you could spend one of them touring the Points East Coastal Drive. This region is the largest of the regions and is 475 km long if you do the whole drive. It is known for it's 50 phenomenal beaches, its lighthouses and so much more!
The North Cape Coastal Drive in the western end of the Island is fun to explore as well. Well known for it's rugged coastline, their famous Malpeque and Cascumpec Bay oysters, the Canadian Potato and Antique Farm Machinery Museum, the Stompin' Tom Centre and is also home to PEI's second largest city of Summerside.
I hope this gives you some great ideas on how to spend your time in PEI! You might also like to have a look at this 'First timer' itinerary that is packed full of great ideas.
