We’ll be staying in North Rustico the second week of August. What is the best place for a lobster dinner?

Hi Cathy,
Thank you for reaching out on Ask An Islander.
When it comes to a lobster dinner, we have many locations which offer them from tip to tip of the Island!
Arrive on an empty stomach because there’s a 60 foot salad bar at Fisherman's Wharf Lobster Suppers, including a large range of desserts available in the Lobster Supper Dining Room.
Nestled in beautiful North Rustico, Pier 15 also includes a family restaurant with a full menu, serving lunch and supper where you can enjoy 1-2lb lobsters, snow crab, or surf and turf.
One of the most popular family friendly lobster dinner operations is found in New Glasgow. New Glasgow is a small idyllic spot on the island complete with gentle rolling hills, the Clyde river. Open since 1958, New Glasgow Lobster Suppers is the quintessential PEI lobster supper experience. Many of us locals open lobster season and mother's day with a lobster supper at New Glasgow Lobster Suppers. If you order a lobster supper, your meal will also include bottomless steamed mussels, rolls, salad. Not to be outdone by the lobster supper, the mile high lemon meringue is the stuff of legends to us Island folks. The best part? The dessert is included in the price of the lobster supper! Overlooking the picturesque Hillsborough River and the Charlottetown waterfront, Lobster on the Wharf is more than just a restaurant that serves fresh PEI lobster and other delicious seafood choices. There is also a market where you can buy fresh lobster, Island Blue mussels, and Malpeque oysters.
If you happen to be heading east towards Belfast, Point Prim Chowder House is a must visit, in addition to their seafood platter, they have amazing chowder, lobster rolls, and steamer pots of assorted shellfish.
The other place I'm going to suggest has portions so generous that it all can't fit on to one platter. East Coast lobster suppers nourish more than the belly. It is a time to celebrate playing with our food, being present, sharing a yarn or two, and unashamedly reaching for more melted butter!
I invite you to download or order our 2024 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!
Have a wonderful summer vacation!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
