Were to go clam digging in PEI?

Hello Margaret,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander! The best places to try clam digging in PEI are usually along the south shore in the red sand. Some of the best places are Maximeville, Pinette, Victoria and Tea Hill.

Before digging, please check for posted signage regarding shellfish closures. You can also visit the Department of Fisheries and Oceans website to learn about size and catch limits.

Happy Clamming!

Valerie
