We're visiting off-season (end of November 2024). Are there things to do that time of year that you'd recommend - especially are there any Anne of Green Gables attractions that will be open?

Hi Michael,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander, I'm glad to hear that you're coming to visit! I certainly can recommend some things for you to do while you're here in late November!
First of all, how about A Green Gables Christmas? Go to Green Gables House for a holiday visit with Anne, complete with seasonal décor, cookies to decorate, trails and carol music, and lots of family fun. Tickets are required so keep an eye on this event, ticket information will be available in the fall.
Staying on the Christmas theme, the end of November and the start of December is Christmas Parade Season! The Charlottetown and Souris Parades are kind of famous around here.
The Charlottetown Christmas Festival usually starts the last week of November and runs all through December. Christmas Markets, Yuletide Walking Tours, and Sleigh Rides are just some of the things you can expect.
If we have snow, which we often do in November there are all kinds of outdoor winter activities to enjoy! Snowshoeing, snowmobiling, skiing, fat biking, and disc golf!
You can even get fresh oysters in November! Valley Pearl Oysters are open year-round and often have fun things happening there. While you're in that neck of the woods, find Moth Lane Brewing! Another unique and fun location that is open year-round.
There are still lots of opportunities to take in some live music in November. The Old Dublin Pub, The Old Triangle and the Gahan House usually have live music on the weekends. Evermoore Brewing Co. in Summerside have their Celtic Jam every Saturday afternoon.
I hope this helps you to plan your November stay! When you're here stop by a Visitor Information Centre to get the latest scoop on events happening!
Take care,
Valerie
