What music events are happening on the Island from September 12 to 16. Any other interesting events happening that weekend?

Good morning Patti;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. From September 12 to 16, there are several great events taking place, as follows:
- Sommo Festival in Cavendish on September 13 & 14 is a music and culinary event featuring Noah Kahan and Greta Van Fleet;
- Jersey Boys plays on the Main Stage of the Charlottetown Festival;
- Anne & Gilbert, The Musical in Charlottetown until October 15;
- Leonard Cohen Songbook & Ladies of the Canyon at Harmony House Theatre in Hunter River (a favourite venue for me); and
- Richard Wood performs his Evening of Celtic Music in Stanley Bridge on September 14.
If you love music, I would also recommend the Authentic PEI Experience known as Spooning at the Shanty with the PEI Spoon Guy in North Rustico. Friends and I met with Brendon last summer for his spoon lesson and we had so much fun (see below). The setting combined with the tunes make this a memorable experience.

Between now and then, I'm sure there will be other events posted that will be of interest. I would suggest stopping by one of our Visitor Information Centres upon arrival to find out what's happening during your stay.
I invite you to download or order our 2023 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!
Have a wonderful summer vacation!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
