why do a lot of houses on PEI only have one or two sides painted? I've noticed a lot of houses that are unpainted on the sides and/or the back.

.Good morning Lori;

Thank you for contacting Ask an Islander. Your observation is a keen one. I think the short answer is a matter of economics, time and priorities.

Your question reminds me of my cousin's wedding. There, my uncle acknowledged that he painted the front of the house for the first wedding of the family. He said he would finish painting the house for the next wedding and might even invest in siding by the last one.

I hope you enjoyed your vacation on Prince Edward Island. Keep in touch!
