Are there bears in PEI?

Hi David, 

Thank you for reaching out! There aren't any bears in Prince Edward Island. The last black bear was killed in 1927 in the eastern part of the province. There is legend of another bear that was sighted in 1935 and they believe that he died of old age. 

Our largest wild animal would be the coyote and then the fox.
