Best beaches for beach combing?

Hi Amy,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask and Islander. What a great question! With 1100 km of coastline and hundreds of kilometers of beaches, there is plenty of opportunity for beachcombing.
I find that the beaches on our south shore, the Northumberland Strait side of the island are great if you're beachcombing for sea glass, sea shells, or sand dollars. The waters tend to be calmer on that side of the island and the more delicate treasures make it to the sandy beaches. Souris Beach, Sally's Beach, Panmure Island Beach, Argyle Shore and West Point Beach are all popular for beachcombing just to name a few.
Our north side beaches, those on the Gulf of St. Lawrence side tend to be a little bit rougher therefore there are less delicate shells and things on that side. They are there, just fewer and a little harder to find.
Please keep in mind that the Prince Edward Island National Park asks that we don't remove anything from their shores. You can have a look at their 'Park Promise' here. You're very welcome to walk their gorgeous beaches and take pictures of any treasure you find!
Have fun!
Valerie
