I'm planning to visit PEI in July from Kingston, ON. I'm hoping to fly rather than drive but I can't find any rental car campanies who have an availalbe car in July. Is there any place I can rent a car in the season?

Hi
Thank you for reaching out! It is so exciting to hear that you are planning a visit.
Unfortunately, car rentals for the summer are extremely hard to come by. Here is a link to one car rental company that may be worth trying from time to time. If possible, they always try their best to accommodate you - PEI Car Rentals. There is certainly no guarantee, but worth a try.
The Province is actively looking for a solution and is currently working with Turo as well as looking at other options. More details on Turo should be coming out shortly, so I would suggest keeping an eye on their website as more information comes available.
Other than that, there are a couple of private tour operators based in Charlottetown that might be worth speaking with just in case you might want to do a day tour or two. They tend to be quite flexible and try to accommodate their guests as best they can. They tend to charge a flat hourly rate that includes the tour guide/driver and the vehicle. They don't charge per person. Since both of these tour operations are small, independent businesses, they don't have websites, so I'll give you their contact information here: Tours-R-Us 902-394-5070 (Paul); East Connection 902-393-5132 (Blair).
I hope this helps with your planning to Prince Edward Island. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us again.
Take care,
Valerie
