Do areas like Cavandish still close for the season in the fall? We used to live in NB years ago and that was the case then.
Greetings Paula,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
While some businesses in the Cavendish area will slowly come to a close in the fall, there are many attractions and sights that remain open. For instance, the Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place remains open until October 31st. There are a variety of biking, hiking, and walking trails in Cavendish and across the province that are beautiful to adventure through in the fall. When exploring the Cavendish area, there is a Cavendish Visitor Information Center that will guide you to nearby happenings in the area.
If you are interested in grabbing tasty food, there is the Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival from September 25th to October 11th. Every October, there is a Charlottetown Scarecrow Festival.
While some businesses and events will be closing down in the fall, there is still plenty of activities to participate in and places to explore. I hope you visit the Island this fall.
Regards,
Bret MacCaull
