Hello! We are doing a road trip from Ontario. We will arrive in PEI on April 18th and stay 4 days. Can you recommend a place or area to stay, what is a must see and what to expect from the weather!!

Hello Rosemarie,
Road trips are exciting! Especially ones to Prince Edward Island. There are lots of exciting things to see and do on PEI. April is still a bit early in our Tourism season therefore you will find some things not yet open; however, you will certainly find enough to keep you busy.
The PEI National Park is beautiful any time of the year, especially the Greenwich section. It is home to the floating boardwalk and the parabolic sand dunes, breathtaking views as you walk through the trails and you arrive at an endless sandy beach. It is absolutely peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful. You can also find more about different nature trails around PEI at Island Trails.
If arts and history is more up your alley, I'd recommend checking out the PEI Arts & Heritage website, we have many museums and artisan shops listed. There is something for everyone. The Island Craft Council is a great little shop in Charlottetown to admire the fantastic work of artisans from across the Island.
We also recommend our three scenic coastal drives. This will allow you to explore vistas along the way with many stops that you can make for opportunities to learn about PEI's culture or simply stop to admire the views. I particularly love the scenic look off in French River as well as the drive-through nearby Park Corner on the North Shore. The many beaches you will find along the way will be worth the stop as well.
I also recommend visiting Glasgow Glen Farm in New Glasgow, where you can watch artisanal cheese being made, purchase cheese (my favourite is the peppercorn) and other items from the retail shop, and stop for a delicious pizza lunch made in the wood-fired oven.
The Great Canadian Soap Co in Brackley Beach is another great spot that is open year round. You can meet the goats, learn about soap making, and make your nose happy by perusing all the different products in the retail shop.
Summerside is a great little city on the water, with a beautiful boardwalk along the seashore. Also, you will find the best homemade ice cream at Holman's Ice Cream Parlour. A definite must stop.
For places to stay, again, it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking to be in more of a hub with small shops and restaurants I would recommend staying in the capital city of Charlottetown. If you're looking for somewhere a little quieter and more secluded, I'd recommend some of our smaller communities like North Rustico, Victoria-by-the-Sea or Montague. You can also check out the 'Where to Stay' section of our website to help you get an idea of the options for accommodations.
Our 2022 visitor guide will be available in April. Stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too! We also invite you to give us a call if you have any more questions or need additional help planning your vacation. You can reach us toll free at: 1-800-463-4734.
Kindly,
Kelly

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
