Hello Joanne,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander. We are happy to hear that you are planning a visit to the Island in July. It is a wonderful time to visit!

PEI is a very dog‑friendly province. Most beaches on the Island allow dogs as long as they’re on leash, with the main exception being beaches within PEI National Park.

There are lots of great spots to explore with your pup, but a few of my favourites are Canoe Cove, Argyle Shore, Basin Head (otherwise known as Singing Sands), and Panmure Island Provincial Park. All are beautiful, spacious, and easy to enjoy with a dog.

Make sure to check out the "Travelling with your Pet" page on our website for some more helpful tools.

I hope you enjoy your time on the Island this summer!

Take care,

Taylor
