I am driving from Halifax to Charollettetown early in the day and staying one night. Then later the next day heading back to Halifax. I want to know what to do, see, where to eat etc? First time there and a short visit. Thank you so much.

Hello Neil,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander.
Charlottetown is a beautiful city and a great place to spend the day. It has historic charm, diverse cultural offerings, and many festive celebrations.
Take a walking tour. Whether it’s guided by the Confederation Players or on your own, be sure to discover the history of Canada’s Birthplace.
Explore Peake’s Wharf Historic Waterfront and Founders Food Hall and Market for shopping, dining, and harbour views. Enjoy live music with Sounds of the Waterfront daily either at Peake's Wharf or Founders Food Hall and Market.
Victoria Row is lined with local artisan shops, cafés and restaurants. Take your time on this must-see cobblestone street that is closed to vehicle traffic during the summer months.
Prince Edward Island is alive with theatre. Take in a performance at the Confederation Centre of the Arts or the Guild. You could take a cruise while here with Ride Solar, North America's largest solar boat, licensed bar, floating restaurant, and of course - fresh PEI lobster!
If you have time and a car, take a drive out to the Prince Edward Island National Park. It is about a 30-minute drive from Charlottetown. The beaches are amazing.
See you soon!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
