I am planning on coming to P.E.I. in September 2026. What are the best music festivals to attend?

Hi there;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander about music events in September 2026. This is a great time of year to visit Prince Edward Island for fantastic music festivals. There are three signature festivals that you'll want to consider as follows:
- Sommo Festival: The second weekend of September in Cavendish is a two-day beachside celebration of music, food and drink.
- The PEI International Shellfish Festival is the following week and is considered Atlantic Canada's biggest kitchen party with music, dancing and culinary competitions.
- Goolaholla Festival, hosted by Tim Chaisson and the East Pointers, is the last weekend of September.
- The Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival begins at the end of September as a series of events over two weeks. Although primarily a culinary festival, many events do include music.
Please be sure to check our events calendar next year by June to find details of festival lineups and artists. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter, which includes details on upcoming festivals and events!
Have a wonderful summer vacation. We'll see you next year.
