If we drive over on the bridge and leave by the ferry do we only pay the ferry fee or is there an additional charge?

Good morning from Prince Edward Island;

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. To answer your question, you only pay to leave Prince Edward Island (if you choose to do so - LOL).

A reservation is recommended for the 75-minute car ferry crossing from Wood Islands to Nova Scotia. The fare is listed as $86 for your vehicle (assuming you are not towing anything) and tere is no additional charge. Visit ferries.ca for details on schedule, fares, amenities and to book online.

If you haven't done so already, download our 2023 visitor’s guide or pick up a hard copy when you arrive at the airport or any Visitor Information Centre. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!

Have a fabulous vacation! Thank you for choosing Prince Edward Island.

Regards,

Verna Lynne
