Is early-mid October a good time to visit?

Hello Connie,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander.

October is a wonderful time to visit PEI! The days are still warm, the evenings cool down and the fall foliage will be hitting its peak loveliness.

Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival is on until October 12th. A two-week celebration of the fall harvest on Canada's Food Island. Sample and celebrate PEI lobster, oysters, mussels, beef, potatoes and more.

There is a lot to see and do in October, visit the Tourism Prince Edward Island website for events and festivals.

It may be too cold for swimming but the beaches are still wonderful for taking a stroll in October. Visit some of our historic lighthouses, spend a day strolling historic Charlottetown, visit wineries, breweries and distilleries. Stroll the Confederation Trail or some of our other beautiful trails.

Hope to see you soon!

Valerie

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
