Is it a bad idea to plan a trip to Cavendish without a personal or rented car? Are the taxi options reliable to get to Cavendish from Charlottetown airport? Are there public transit options from the airport to Cavendish during the summer?
Hello Jithin,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
Coming to the Island in the summer, with some planning you can travel to Cavendish from Charlottetown by rural transit. It will get you from town to there, but between the attractions, there is some distance. You may find walking it, takes much of the time you could have enjoying the sights. Then to leave Cavendish to Charlottetown, by transit, you are limited to a set time.
I would recommend a few options, looking at either taxi or Kari for travel to there, as they can travel any time which fits into your schedule. As you will want to go from site to site, it would be recommended to agree upon the time and fare.
You may wish to consider a van service, where they can pick you up, tour the Island and take you to the places you wish to see and wait while you enjoy your adventure. This would likely be your best option, short of renting a vehicle and driving yourselves.
Happy vacation planning,
Erin Davis
