Is the Montague marina on a fresh water river? Or is it brackish water?

Hello Paul,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander.
The Montague Marina is on the Montague River and is part of the designated Canadian Heritage River system of Three Rivers, consisting of the Montague, Brudenell, and Cardigan Rivers. The Montague/Valleyfield system is the largest of these waterways, with a tidal corridor of approximately 13 km and a freshwater corridor of 20 km.
The best way I can describe it is, if the tide is coming in, the water will be mainly all saltwater coming in from the Northumberland Strait. If the tide is going out, it will be brackish.
It's a beautiful marina!
I hope that helps,
Valerie
