I’m looking to book a lobster fishing tour and I can’t find anywhere that will do a tour the beginning of June even though it’s lobster season. Can you help me?

Hi there;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander about a lobster fishing tour. During the spring Lobster fishing season, tours are limited as active fishers are occupied with maximizing catches during limited number of allowable fishing days. However, there are two Authentic PEI Experiences that may be of interest to you.
Perry Gotell of Tranquility Cove Adventures from Georgetown has a tour beginning June 1. This Authentic PEI Experience offers two-hours of deep-sea fishing with onboard BBQ. Fish for mackerel, fillet and BBQ. Get up close to a local seal herd sunning on a raft, then haul a real lobster trap, rock crab pot and mussel sock for an educational overview of each industry. There is also an opportunity to handle lobsters, crab and wild mussels.
Also in early June, retired fisherman Jim Conohan offers a mussel and lobster shore boil out of Cardigan. Please note that this experience does not include time on a lobster boat.
Another option is to visit fishing harbours in early to mid afternoon when boats return to dock. You can watch the catches being unloaded and ask a few questions of fishers.
Have a fabulous vacation. If other questions arise, feel free to contact us. Thank you for choosing Prince Edward Island.
Regards,
Verna Lynne
