Since we are visiting PEI after 9-2 are the parks still open? Do we have to pay? Is there a pass we can get so we don't have to pay for each one?
Hello Colleen,
September is a great time to visit Prince Edward Island. Things begin to slow down a little bit, the students are back in school, and harvest season is just around the corner. The weather is still great, and there are still lots of things to see and do!
The Provincial Parks stay open until late September, with a few of them staying open into October.
There is no charge to visit Provincial Parks.
The Prince Edward Island National Park is also open until late September, mid-October. Limited services are available in May and June and again in September and October.
There is normally a fee to enter the PEI National Park, but for the 2025 season, free admission is offered from June 20 to September 2nd due to the Canada Strong Pass. After September 2nd, you can still access the park, but you won't need to pay an entrance fee as the booths will be closed.
Have fun exploring our amazing (free) beaches!
