Hi there! My sis and I will be driving between Charlottetown and Bay Fortune on a Saturday in June. What route and on-route sights/sounds/tastes/smells/gems would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

Hi Brittany,
Well this is a very open ended answer, depending on when in June you are coming through. Most things are open around the middle of June and another factor is the amount of time you have to explore. So coming from Charlottetown you can take the Points East Coastal Drive (Star Fish Trail) and take in a lot of the eastern end of the Island going towards Wood Islands Ferry stopping at Belfast Mini Mills through Wood Islands Beach Point, Murray Harbour, Murray River on to Montague, Georgetown and then on to Cardigan and then the Seven Mile Road in a straight run to Bay Fortune. Or you can leave Charlottetown and take the west side of the Island going through Morell and St. Peters. Please keep in mind the Island is small.
The second route is a straight run from Charlottetown and about 70 km, the first route would be about double that. You see depending on the time you have you could tour Belfast Mini Mills, eat at Clamdiggers in Cardigan, tour a hands on working studio at Shoreline Design In Georgetown, tour the Kings Playhouse, check out the working harbour in Georgetown or take a fishing trip with Tranquility Tours and finally, eat fish and chips in St. Peters.
Hope this helps, keep in mind the Island is small and everywhere on the east end is reachable in an hour or so from Fortune at the very most.
All the best
