where is the best place to see the lupins im arriving june 24th will that be too late
Hello Margaret Eileen,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
Lupins are so very close to being out and I suspect you shall arrive at an ideal time to see them! Some of the best places to see the lupins are in almost every ditch of Prince Edward Island. My personal favourite is Route 7, come off Highway 2 and head towards Oyster Bed. This has always been one of my favourite roads to travel for the lupins and visit Farmer's Bank of Rustico Museum. Along their road going in we have been fortunate to find dark purple lupins, so dark they are almost black! Stunningly beautiful.
Around the time you are here, the phlox should be out and when the white phlox it out with the lupins, those are a lovely picture. Also finding the red dirt fields or the water for a background is lovely.
I also remember a variety of colours with the lupins around the historical St. Mary's Church in Indian River.
Here is hoping the lupins and Mother Nature give you lots of colour!
