We are staying in Kensington and want to ride the Confederation Trail. Where is best place to rent our bikes and access the trail?
Hello Brenda,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander. We are happy to hear that you are planning a trip to the Island to enjoy some biking.
Knead a Brake, on the edge of Kensington, is a great place to rent a bike and enjoy a lovely treat. They make Krffins, which is a cross between a muffin and a croissant, and they are fantastic. You could also catch the Confederation Trail just a short walk down the road from Knead a Brake.
Not too far from Kensington in Summerside, there is the Quality Inn and Suites. They offer bike rentals as well. From the Quality Inn, you could catch the section of the Confederation Trail that intersects with MacEwen Rd.
Other options such as Outside Expeditions, Dalvay by the Sea, and Millstream Cottages, also offer bike rentals. These locations are close to Prince Edward Island National Park, making them convenient for enjoying the trails that run through the park.
I hope you have a wonderful bike trip on the Island.
Take care,
Taylor
