We plan to come in July and my favourite activity is beachcombing for lovely shells to add to my collection. Which beach can you recommend for this?

Hi Natalie,
Thank you for reaching out! I am happy to hear that you are planning a trip to PEI. Beachcombing is a great way to enjoy the beaches of Prince Edward Island. You can find treasures on almost any beach, but I definitely prefer the beaches on the south side of the island (Northumberland Strait side). The waters are a little calmer on the strait side so you can find the more delicate treasures like tiny shells, sea glass or sand dollars.
The north shore beaches are also great for beachcombing, there is just less of the more delicate treasures. I've seen some amazing driftwood and sometimes even some well worn sea glass! One thing to keep in mind, beachcombing is not permitted on the beaches of the Prince Edward Island National Park. The Park Promise asks that you leave nothing and take nothing. If you see a lovely shell, get creative and take a picture of it for your collection.
Have fun planning your trip and we'll see you in July!
