We will be visiting in June. Where would we find live music - preferably outdoors, not at nightclubs.

Hi Deanna,

Thank you for reaching out. I am so glad to hear that you are coming to visit!

Schedules for this upcoming season are starting to appear, and I am sure there is still a lot to come! Here are a few to have a look at.

The Waterfront Music Series is a live music series held outdoors on Peakes Quay in Charlottetown. It is a great way to experience local music and enjoy the gorgeous waterfront.

Summerside Seaside Seafood Celebration is a yearly event held in Summerside, this year it will be held from June 24, 2022 - June 26, 2022. It is a celebration of seafood with live music and fun events over the two-day festival.

The Festival of Small Halls will be June 10 – 19 this year. These are not outdoor events, but not nightclubs either. The events are held at small community halls and venues all across the Island. If you get a chance to take one in, you won’t be disappointed!

I also have to mention the Stompin’ Tom Festival Series which starts on June 4th and runs until September. Their website is currently under construction so keep checking back to see the schedule! They hold indoor and outdoor events, as well as daily live entertainment from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. You’ll hear lots of Stompin’ Tom hits, maybe even the one about a Leamington tomato.

Always on Stage is live outdoor music on Victoria Row in downtown Charlottetown starting June 15th.

And ceilidhs! Not outdoors, but if you can you must take one in! The MacKinnon Homestead Scottish Ceilidh starts May 31st!

You can stop at one of the Visitor Information Centres when you are here. They will have up-to-date information on what is happening in the area.

I hope this helps!

Valerie
