Hello Mark,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

August is a beautiful summer month on Prince Edward Island. The province has three scenic coastal drives: North Cape Coastal Drive; Central Coastal Drive; Points East Coastal Drive, covering almost 1100 kms complete with scenic lookouts. Along these scenic drives, you will discover the rural picturesque beauty of lighthouses, beaches, fishing villages, artisan communities, nature trails, heritage sites, farms, fields and hometown bakeries and dairy bars. Also, there are scenic heritage roads to explore.  In addition, you may experience festivals, ceilidhs and the finest culinary on Canada's Food Island including lobster suppers, seafood and dining experiences.

The Prince Edward Island Tourism website is a fantastic resource in planning a vacation. There are many B&B and hotels to choose from, including but not limited to Fitzroy Hall, The Dawson House, La Petite France, and Dewar's Montague Bed and Breakfast. There are antique hotels such as Rodd Charlottetown Hotel, The Great George, Fairholm National Historic Inn or the Sydney Boutique Inn and Suites.

Hopefully, I have provided some options and ideas for your upcoming trip in August 2025.

Regards,

Kevin Barbour
