What activities or locations would you recommend for a family with a 6 year old?
Hello Lucy,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander. We’re thrilled to hear that you and your family will be visiting the island soon!
If you’re interested in discovering more about Anne of Green Gables, Cavendish is the perfect place to start. You can explore the Anne of Green Gables Museum, visit The Heritage Place, and see the birthplace of L.M. Montgomery. These are all great attractions for families!
Cavendish itself is also a fantastic family-friendly destination, featuring amusement parks and various museums that offer fun activities tailored for children and families.
While you’re here, don’t miss the opportunity to visit some of our public access lighthouses, where you can learn about the rich history of Prince Edward Island.
Another great spot is Island Hill Farms, which is enjoyable for all ages! You’ll have the chance to tour the farm and interact with a variety of animals.
For a dose of history, check out Orwell Corner Historic Village. This charming attraction, preserved from the 1890s, allows you to step inside old houses and experience life as it was back in time.
We hope you and your family have a wonderful trip to our beautiful province!
Take care,
Taylor
