What are the best towns for cute shops and patios?

Good morning Pam;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. I would highly recommend a visit to Victoria-by-the-Sea for patio dining and strolling quiet streets.
This small PEI community is home to many artisans and chefs. Whether you are interested in pottery, jewelry, weaving, chocolate or a lobster roll, this is the place to be. There are a several restaurants in the village. I would recommend the Landmark, Richard's Seafood or the Lobster Barn. For dessert, head to Island Chocolates for a treat and the best coffee in PEI.
Another small town worth a visit is North Rustico. Dine at Blue Mussel Cafe or On the Dock Eatery, then visit the shops at Seawalk Park and Rustico Bay Wool Sweater Company. Nearby in South Rustico, visit the Karen Gallant Art Gallery and then drive down the road to the Prince Edward Island Preserve Co. and Toy Factory in New Glasgow.
For more information about studios & galleries, download the Arts-Heritage-Guide-2025. You can pick up a copy at any VIC upon your arrival.
I invite you to download or order our 2025 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!
Have a wonderful summer vacation!
