What areas are dog friendly in PEI

Hello Billie,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
Prince Edward Island is a pet friendly destination.
Provincial beaches and most public beaches will allow dogs on a leash unless otherwise specified. Prince Edward Island's 8 provincial campground parks open for the season on June 6 and there are no entry fees to these parks.
However, at the PEI National Park, dogs are not allowed on the beach from April 1 - October 15 however you may take dogs to picnic, camping and trail areas within the park.
Most dogs enjoy going to the 20 acre waterfront dog park called Upton Farmlands, near Charlottetown. This area is a designated off leash park and fenced for your dog's safety and security. There are smaller dog parks across the Island. Also, there are pet friendly shopping and attractions options as noted on the travelling with your pet link of the Tourism PEI website.
During the summer, dogs are always welcome on the Fiddling Fisherman fishing vessel called "Chaisson a Dream". This authentic PEI experience will offer the best in culinary entertainment as you enjoy fiddling, lobster and a boat cruise for memories that will last for a lifetime.
Regards,
Kevin Barbour

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
