Good morning from Prince Edward Island,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. A quick Google search revealed that the St. Anthony's Parish Picnic is Sunday, August 6 this year. It begins with outdoor mass at 11:00 am; hot roast beef dinner served from 12 to 5:30 pm; outdoor games for the children from 12:30 to 4:30 pm; bingo from 12:30 to 6:00 pm and music for the afternoon. Sounds like a great time!

If you have any other questions about this event, look up the Facebook account, call 902) 859-2536 or email

This is the same weekend as the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival, Festival Route 11 and many other events along North Cape Coastal Drive. Personally speaking, I'll be taking in the oyster supper and Tyne Valley parade (picture from last year below).

Have a great time!
