What is the best time of year to see PEI in full bloom?

Hello Norman,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

Spring through fall is usually the best time to see PEI in full bloom. Each season brings unique beauty. The colors usually begin around mid May as the tulips are in full bloom. The greenery with spring flowers is a sure sign of spring. The Island landscape is transformed with the arrival of the colorful lupins in mid to late June. Fields of potato blossoms offer scenic views in mid to late July. Wild flowers continue to seasonally bloom during the summer until the amazing colors of the fall foliage.

Hope you will visit the Island to experience this picturesque beauty!

Regards,

Kevin Barbour

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
