Hi Judy,

The short answer is, flying is the fastest and easiest way to get to Prince Edward Island for many visitors. From the Charlottetown Airport, you can rent a car if you want to explore beyond the capital city. Even though the Island is small at only 280 kilometers long (174 miles), many visitors choose to have a car to enjoy all we have to offer.

A lot of people drive to PEI from other parts of Canada and the US arriving via the Confederation Bridge and making travel a part of the trip. However, depending on where you are coming from, that could be a long drive.

I hope this helps!

Valerie
