What parts of a bar clam does one eat?

Hi Gary, 

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander! 

Bar clams are so delicious, bottled bar clams are my favourite but you also can't beat a deep fried bar clam. 

The yummy parts that we eat are the thumb or foot, the connector muscles that are similar to a small scallop and really, you can pretty much all of it except for the belly which is discarded during the cleaning process.
