What’s something to do that’s easy, fun and not too expensive around Stanley Bridge or within an hour of there? Thanks!
Hello Heather,
Thank you for your question to Ask and Islander.
I love the Stanley Bridge area.
Carr's Oyster Bar is a great stop, they have a cute Wildlife Centre.
Interested in walking? The Devil's Punchbowl is a fun walking trail. It is listed as a moderate trail, but has a few steps, bridges and steep slopes. Many years ago, the area was know for being a great spot to hide moonshine! The panels at the trail will tell you another story.
There are several great golf courses in the area.
In Cavendish there is Yippee's Playcade, Cavendish Beach Adventure Zone, Shining Waters Fun Park and Sandspit.
Forest Hill Disk Golf Course.
Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park is wonderful for hiking, bird and wildlife watching.
Monday to Friday at noon there is a free show behind the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown. While in town, visit the visitor information centre in Founder's Hall and ask for a map to find Eckhart. Take a Fox Story Walk while there.
See how many lighthouses you can find on Prince Edward Island. Collect sea glass, sea shells and other treasures on the beach. Visit the information centre at the Greenwich or head to the Potato Museum in O'Leary.
Enjoy!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
