What’s the best seafood restaurant on the island

Answer by:

Hi George,

To ask what is the best seafood restaurant on the Island is like trying to pick your favourite child; impossible!

We have so many great seafood options from tip-to-tip of our Island; I'll share some of my particular favourites.

In North Rustico, you'll find the Blue Mussel Cafe which is a favourite eatery for both visitors and locals alike. The flavours are bold, but always thoughtful. In my mind the 3 must eat items are their mussels jardiniere, lobster dip, and seafood bubbly bake. Whenever I go we order dishes for the table to be eaten family style because there's so many tasty bites to choose from!

The next must visit seafood spot is located in Covehead. Richard's Fresh Seafood is an iconic restaurant with a small menu that packs a punch. The lobster roll and the fish and chips are the stars. My big piece of advice is to ask for an extra side of tartar sauce when you place your order- you'll not be disappointed with this life decision!

On the Western end of the Island, you'll find the Cascumpec Oyster Company. Located overlooking the Trout River, their Oyster Deck is a one-of-kind PEI oyster experience. Be prepared to experience a unique and fun way to shuck and slurp oysters! From raw to cooked and grilled, you’ll be able to savour oysters prepared in various ways in this multi-course 2 hour culinary odyssey.

Have a great visit, and happy eating!
